Representatives of the UK Government, the Government of Antigua & Barbuda, Caribbean Development Bank, Barbuda Council, and APUA gathered in Barbuda for the Soil Turning Ceremony for the Barbuda Energy Resilience Project onThursday April 20th, 2023.
The Barbuda Energy Resilience Project (BERP) commenced after the passage of Hurricane Irma in 2019. The project will deliver undergrounding of approximately 8 kilometres of electricity cables, the installation of solar panels and batteries and reconnection of homes to the grid.
The project is funded by the UKCIF through the FCDO, CDF and CDB.
